Tier IV uses Autoware, a widely used open source autonomous driving software stack, to provide a wide range of applications, solutions and services related to autonomous driving. Autonomous Driving Perception Algorithms Researchers research and develop autonomous driving systems that can be deployed in various situations. Applicants will be favorably looked upon if they have a publication record in a related field, a graduate degree, or have demonstrated an ability to develop novel algorithms for industrial applications. 06_System Engineer (Verification and Validation Lead)

At Tier IV, we build self-driving solutions for many operational domains covering a broad range of applications. Building on widely-used open-source software, we provide both the foundational self-driving technology as well as the integration and customisation necessary to provide our customers with complete self-driving applications. As a System Engineer (Verification and Validation Lead), you will be responsible for managing how we verify and validate the behaviour of our self-driving vehicles and ensure they meet requirements and, most importantly, are safe. You will manage the planning, documentation and execution of tests for V&V of self-driving vehicles. You will coordinate with our self-driving engineers to ensure that V&V expectations are realistic and clear, and coordinate with test engineers to ensure that tests are executed correctly and test results are made available. ・Plan a comprehensive test programme for self-driving vehicles and software, and manage the execution of that test programme. ・Create test plans to verify and validate the behaviour of self-driving vehicles and software, find incorrect and unexpected behaviours, and identify root causes. ・Create test schedules to ensure timely verification of newly-developed features and continued correct behaviour of existing features. ・Analyse test results, pushing identified issues through to closure and signing-off on passed tests. ・Manage the interaction between test engineers and self-driving software developers. ・As necessary, participate in the execution of test plans.

07_Autonomous Driving - System Engineer

At Tier IV, we build self-driving solutions for many operational domains covering a broad range of applications. Building on widely-used open-source software, we provide both the foundational self-driving technology as well as the integration and customisation necessary to provide our customers with complete self-driving applications. As a Autonomous Driving - System Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and updating the requirements and architecture of our self-driving vehicles that are safe. You will act as a bridge between, software, and cloud development teams to minimize complexity, cost, power, and optimize performance, capability, and scalability of the system and the product. ・Define system requirements and architecture for prospective wide-variety of autonomous driving systems so as to ensure the future product vision and roadmap as well as fail operational concepts and safety mechanism ・Develop detailed and verifiable requirements and documentation for the system interactions between all the relevant components of autonomous driving system including Autoware ・Act as a bridge between, software and cloud development teams to minimize complexity, cost, power, and optimize performance, capability, and scalability of the system and the product. ・Make complex trade-offs between sensor layout, edge computing systems, base vehicle systems, Autoware software components and Cloud based systems ・Share system requirements and architecture work with the software and hardware development teams and Field Application Engineering team. ・Perform safety and fault analyses to develop robust solutions to meet product and safety goals and, whenever necessary, to ensure mitigations are in place for safe operations.

08_Autonomous Driving - Software Engineer (System Programming)

As an Autonomous Driving - Software Engineer (System Programming), you will be responsible for developing and integrating our self-driving and surrounding software, ensuring that autonomous vehicles and its operations are safe and predictable to the society. You will also make constructive discussions in the worldwide community to make software safe and usable everywhere in the world. ・Design requirements of computer systems, construct and implement computer systems for various types of autonomous vehicles, and evaluate and improve system with team members and allied partners. ・Study and evaluate state-of-the-art computer system for harsh environment, and construct, introduce, integrate, and verify computer system for safer and sustainable self-driving system. ・Design, develop, optimize, and integrate self-driving system with focusing on application/system and computing hardware, ensuring that its behavior is safe and predictable to the society. ・Design, develop, optimize, and integrate surrounding software of autonomous vehicles to make our developments and operations safe, efficient, and effective. ・Configure, patch, troubleshoot, and improve open source platform through the system security and vehicle safety aspects. ・Document software design, specification, and instructions for a wide range of readers. ・Evaluate cutting-edge technologies and ecosystems of autonomous vehicles for the cutting-edge safety and social receptivity. ・Verify software systems, find incorrect and unexpected behaviors, and fix root causes. ・Collaborate with engineers from different teams, companies, and countries to make software safe and usable everywhere in the world.

As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for triaging and resolving customer issues relating to Tier IV's products and services, documenting bugs and workarounds, and creating and delivering technical training to customers through the Tier IV Autoware Academy. Doing so will require the building of cross-functional relationships with a variety of teams including Sales, Project Management and Development, as well as external partners, all in the name of providing the best possible customer experience.
