BMS design engineer – HW & SW

- Define and drive the BMS HW and SW architecture and functions of the control systems in our battery packs - Customer communication - gather and document high level requirements of the BMS system functions to develop UML/SysML diagrams - Define the communication matrix for EE architecture based on CAN, CAN-FD, Flexray etc. in database file format, provide-request matrix file, VMM, ECU description files(*ARXML/.dbc/data dictionaries), ASAM files etc. - Develop virtual function bus, base software configurations, application interfaces, E2E library configuration, complex driver interfaces with Functional safety view of operations - Support break-down of requirements to the other teams in the development organization - HW, SW and mechanical team - Provide BMS insights in early concept development for new and future integrated pack designs - Review and design of Electrical circuits for critical functions viz. Isolation monitor, cell monitor, Safety uC, ASIC based data acquisition, Temperature monitoring, overvoltage, overcurrent protection, total discharge protection, Interlock loop monitoring, Power limitations, Active-passive protection, Wakeup control, Supply management. - D-FMEA, FMEA-DA, Functional safety ISO 26262, HARA, HAZOP, SIL- derivation & FIT rate documentation with action priority reporting (APIS IQ-FMEA, Medini Analyze or similar tools) - LT Spice simulation of essential BMS circuits and integration of data into ESS Models for HIL simulation

ESS design engineer – HW & EE

- Design Responsibility for Circuit Components and/or complete PCBAs and owner of release process with BOM and cost optimization - Component selection, supplier communication during development, creation and maintenance of component libraries - Circuit design & documentation in Altium Designer or similar tools is a big advantage - proficiency in the fields of circuit technology analog and digital, PCB layout, EMC and circuit design - High voltage harness, Low voltage harness , BUSBAR layout and Electrical CAD/Drawings using tools like - Electrical CAD, Solidworks electrical or similar - Support break-down of requirements to the other teams in the development organization - HW, SW and mechanical team - Review and design of Electrical circuits for critical functions viz. Isolation monitor, cell monitor, Safety uC, ASIC based data acquisition, Temperature monitoring, overvoltage, overcurrent protection, total discharge protection, Interlock loop monitoring, Power limitations, Active-passive protection, Wakeup control, Supply management. - D-FMEA, FMEA-DA, Functional safety ISO 26262, HARA, HAZOP, SIL- derivation & FIT rate documentation with action priority reporting (APIS IQ-FMEA, Medini Analyze or similar tools) - LT Spice simulation of essential BMS circuits and integration of data into ESS Models for HIL simulation - Conversant with Electrical characteristic testing and design standards including for high voltage insulation coordination (Clearance/creepage/IPXX/pollution degree/hi-pot test) viz. LV 123, IEC 60384,ISO 20653,IEC 60664 for low voltage, HV2a,HV2b,HV3 and higher voltage classes up to 1500V DC - Experience with EMC pre-compliance & compliance testing and review with deep understanding of CISPR & ISO standards for EMC testing and optimization methods

ESS telematics design engineer– DoIP and Cloud

- Concept creation and specification of ESS telematics and data acquisition - Support the creation of communication matrix for data logging/ real time upload to servers for Cloud architect and SW development and user interface - Facilitate and breakdown requirements from SW development team and Cloud architect to ESS development team - Facilitate and breakdown requirements from ESS development team related to diagnostic and Controller firmware update using DoIP(Diagnostic over Internet protocol) & UDS (Unified diagnostic services – ISO 14229, ISO 13400 or equivalent standards) - Component selection for creation of RDB (remote data bridge) (eg. CSS CANedge or similar) for upload from CAN, CAN-FD,LIN or FLEXRAY channels to remote server including HMI(Human Machine interface on ESS) development - Develop test plan for integration ESS simulators and test equipment to remote server for rapid prototyping support to SW development team and ESS design team - Data logging of Ethernet/ Wireless , CAN,CAN-FD,LIN & Flexray data for debugging support to ESS design team and SW development team - Design E2E protection and secure transmission of ESS data with cryptographic security models - Work with internal and external partners to develop and analyze the ecosystem of data usage and governing regulations

High voltage charging system design engineer – Comm. & protocols

- Concept creation and System specification for EV Charging and Grid/V2X technologies - Support break-down of requirements to the other teams in the development organization - HW, SW and mechanical team - Primarily responsible for managing and implementing charging communication SW protocols (SAE, CHAdeMO, CCS 1, CCS 2, CHAoji) for new component development - Experience with SLAC(signal level attenuation & characterization) and HomePlug Green PHY PLC module and communications (Knowledge of IEC 61851, ISO 15118-4/20 is added advantage) - Support system definition of high voltage AC/DC charging system functions & features, including smart charging & V2X/V2L (EVPOSA guidelines) - Support troubleshooting of hardware/software issues for releases - Test case specification and validation aimed at off-board charger inter-operability compliance - Support integration of HW/SW during prototype development - Support Quality processes (D-FMEA, ISO 26262) - Support HW/SW analysis of off-board EVSEs (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) - Bench-marking and monitoring latest standardization trends in the market

Testing & Validation engineer – ESS

- Plan, organize, direct and follow up on project-related testing activities - Support set up of test facilities - Facilitate communication and clarification of technical test requirements between customers and internal stakeholders - Document and conduct at internal or external facilities Lifetime, Performance, Safety, Electrical characteristics and Environmental testing - Identify all the regulatory and standards for testing requirements and liaison with customers based on application and relevance - Map the T&V plan to D-FMEA and define a robustness matrix for the product with the system engineer - Create T&V plan with clear categorization for design validation and production validation keeping relevant industry standards and regulation in view (example experience in UN 38.3, UL 9540/A, SAND 2005, freedomCAR, UN ECE or others) - Design and conduct EMC pre- compliance and compliance test plan based on relevant standards (viz. CISPR & ISO) and assist design engineers in optimization

Thermal System design engineer – ESS & Inverter/Converter conditioning

- Perform 3D thermal/CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis simulations on system, subsystem and component level high voltage battery packs & inverter/converters using commercial CAE/CFD software to meet performance targets - Post process and report thermal simulation results to product development teams to guide battery and converter designs - Analyze and process actual thermal test data for CAE model correlation (GT suite, AMESIM or other similar tools) - Determine loading and boundary conditions for thermal CAE/CFD models - Evaluate hot and cold spots for temperature monitoring in the ESS and power electronic devices for accurate predictive algorithm support with a view on performance and cost optimization ● Experience in ESS thermal management and control algorithm development with functionally safe design (knowledge of MATLAB-SIMULINK added advantage) ● Experience with Thermal runaway prediction and reporting in operation/storage for Lithium ion based ESS ● Lead creation of system safety specifications, DFMEA, and other technical design documents (HARA, HAZOP, SIL derivation added advantage) ● Develop and execute component safety and subsystem design verification plans and test methods to validate product adherence to requirements
