JOB DESCRIPTION

TeraWatt Technology is a deep-tech company designing and manufacturing next-generation lithium-ion battery platforms built to work at scale.
Our cells are lighter, smaller, more powerful, and safer—guided by our core mindset: “Make it Work at Scale.”

With its ISO 9001–certified mass-production facility, TeraWatt is advancing its technology and production roadmap towards commercialization. The company is focused on strengthening how its technical advantages are articulated and delivered to the market.

This role sits at the center of that transition.

【Role Overview】
This is a mission-critical position and TeraWatt’s first dedicated Product Marketing hire.

You will be responsible for establishing Product Marketing at TeraWatt, while remaining deeply hands-on in execution. You will own how our battery platforms are positioned, communicated, and brought to market globally, in close collaboration with Sales, BD, R&D, Manufacturing, and leadership.

We are seeking an expert-level professional who brings:

・The ability to operate independently and effectively in a scaling deep-tech startup

This is a highly hands-on role. You will personally develop content, engage directly with customers, and drive go-to-market execution.

・Translate complex technical capabilities into compelling, customer-relevant narratives.
・Enable commercial success with leading OEMs and partners.
・Establish scalable Product Marketing frameworks that will support future growth and team expansion.

【Key Responsibilities】

<Build & Lead Product Marketing >
・Define the scope, role, and operating model of Product Marketing at TeraWatt.
・Establish core frameworks for positioning, messaging, GTM, and sales enablement.
・Act as the owner of product narrative consistency across the company.

<Product Positioning & Messaging >
・Develop and continuously refine product positioning, value propositions, and storytelling.
・Translate performance, cost, safety, and manufacturability trade-offs into customer value.
・Lead competitive analysis and differentiation strategy.

<Go-To-Market & Commercialization>
・Lead GTM strategy and execution for new product introductions.
・Define target segments, use cases, and messaging priorities.
・Provide value-based input into pricing logic and commercial strategy.

<Sales & Business Development Enablement>
・Create and maintain core sales materials: pitch decks, product briefs, FAQs, competitive comparisons, and proposal content.
・Actively support key customer and OEM engagements, including customer calls, workshops, and executive presentations.
・Shape narratives for strategic partnerships and large commercial opportunities.

<Market & Customer Insight>
・Conduct market research, customer interviews, and competitive intelligence.
・Synthesize insights into actionable recommendations for Product, R&D, and leadership.
・Influence product roadmap and prioritization through customer and market insight.

<Cross-Functional Leadership> ・Serve as a bridge between engineering, product, commercial teams and customers ・Drive alignment across functions to ensure credible, consistent product communication. ・Prepare the foundation for future Product Marketing team growth.

必須スキル

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

【Must-Have Qualifications】
・5–10+ years of experience in Product Marketing, Product Strategy, or Technical Marketing in B2B industrial, hardware, or deep-tech domains.
・Proven experience building product positioning, messaging, and GTM frameworks from scratch.
・Strong ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into business and customer value.
・Hands-on execution capability across content creation, GTM planning, and customer engagement.
・Native-level proficiency in English
・Business-level proficiency in Japanese

【Skills & Competencies】
・Cross-functional bridge: Able to “speak the language” of engineers (R&D, manufacturing) and commercial teams (Sales, BD).
・Messaging & positioning excellence: Skilled at structuring value propositions and competitive narratives.
・Analytical mindset: Comfortable synthesizing market data, customer feedback, and competitive signals into clear recommendations.
・Strong communicator: Capable of presenting complex concepts clearly to customers, executives, and internal stakeholders.
・Global communication skills: Native-level proficiency in English & Business-level proficiency in Japanese for working with international customers and partners.

【Nice-to-Have Qualifications】
・Experience in lithium-ion batteries, automotive, mobility, energy storage, or related high-tech industries.
・Experience working closely with R&D, engineering, or manufacturing teams.
・Familiarity with automotive OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, or global industrial customers.
・Experience in startups or companies scaling from development to mass production and commercialization.
