We are seeking a mission-driven Software Engineering Manager to lead the development of internal applications and platform features that extract, structure, and serve knowledge from a diverse range of documents and internal content. You will help accelerate LegalOn’s AI-native transformation by optimizing the information extraction process and enhancing our platform’s impact across multiple products. ■ What Mission and Challenges You’ll Take On - Build and scale a robust knowledge platform that powers various LegalOn products by structuring unorganized data into reusable knowledge - Lead the development and operation of internal web applications used for document processing and information extraction - Drive cross-functional collaboration to streamline data ingestion, annotation, and review workflows across the organization ■ What You’ll Do - Define and drive the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for the knowledge platform and internal tools - Collaborate with product managers, designers, and AI engineers to identify opportunities and prioritize features - Manage day-to-day execution of software projects, ensuring high quality and timely delivery - Support the growth and engagement of a high-performing engineering team through hiring, mentoring, and performance management - Continuously improve the team’s development lifecycle, including design reviews, testing strategies, deployment automation, and operational excellence The details are described in the Notion page below: https://legalforce-recruit.notion.site/LegalOn-Technologies-f5ebe38a6009428ab0fb1714efd3c90a

- 5+ years of professional software engineering or AI engineering experience - 2+ years of engineering management experience, including team leadership and project delivery - Experience developing and operating web applications and APIs - Strong problem-solving and technical communication skills - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field - Japanese language proficiency equivalent to JLPT N2 or higher - Business-level English proficiency, including: - Reading and writing skills for technical and business documentation - Clear and effective communication in both verbal and written formats

- Experience managing a team of 5 or more engineers, including performance management - Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or integration into real-world applications - Experience building AI-native products where AI is central to user workflows - Experience designing and building internal tools to support content or data operations - Familiarity with web applications tech stack and micro-service architectures - Knowledge of document processing, information extraction, or knowledge management systems - Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams - Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse cultures in both English and Japanese
