As we scale, we are developing a new B2B platform that powers travel distribution, supplier integrations, pricing optimization, and booking infrastructure for partners around the world. ------------------------------------------- <About KabuK Exchange> KabuK Style is building KabuK Exchange, also known as KBKx, a B2B2B travel distribution platform designed to connect Japanese hotel supply with global demand channels, while also supporting redistribution of wholesaler inventory across multiple travel products. The platform will support hotels, travel suppliers, channel managers, distributors, internal products, and future white-label services. Our goal is to build reliable travel distribution infrastructure that can scale across Japan, Asia, and global demand markets. ------------------------------------------- <About the Role> We are looking for a Backend Engineer, Platform to help build and maintain the backend services that power KabuK Exchange. This role is ideal for an engineer who has solid backend development experience and wants to grow by working on real platform systems, APIs, integrations, pricing, billing, payments, booking workflows, and travel distribution infrastructure. You will work closely with senior backend engineers, engineering leads, product managers, QA, and external development partners. You will contribute to production services while learning how to design reliable, maintainable, and scalable backend systems in a complex B2B2B travel platform. ------------------------------------------- <Team> This role may work across one of the following platform areas depending on business needs and candidate strengths: ▼Supply & Distribution Platform This team owns the systems that connect hotel supply to demand channels reliably, accurately, and at scale. The team’s scope includes: - Supplier integrations - Channel manager integrations - Distributor APIs - PMS/extranet distribution controls - Availability and rate ingestion - Rate and availability normalization - Booking and reservation operational lifecycle - Partner API contracts - Distribution eligibility rules - Hotel onboarding technical flows ▼Commerce Platform This team owns the systems that ensure every price, booking, payment, invoice, and ledger event is commercially correct and auditable. The team’s scope includes: - Pricing Service - Billing - Payments - Ledger - Reconciliation - Supplier payables - Distributor receivables - Refunds and adjustments - Credit limits - Commercial reporting inputs - Financial auditability ------------------------------------------- <What You'll Work On> Depending on team assignment, you may contribute to backend services related to: - Internal APIs and service-to-service communication - Supplier and partner integrations - Booking and reservation workflows - Pricing and margin calculation workflows - Billing and payment workflows - Invoice and reconciliation support - PMS and extranet backend functionality - Data mapping and API normalization - Error handling, retries, and monitoring - Backend testing and production issue investigation - Operational tools for internal teams You will help improve the reliability, maintainability, and scalability of platform services as KabuK Exchange moves from MVP toward external launch and growth. ------------------------------------------- <Responsibilities> - Build, maintain, and improve backend services for the KabuK Exchange platform. - Develop and maintain APIs used by internal services, frontend applications, and external partners. - Implement features based on product requirements and technical designs. - Work with senior engineers to understand system architecture, service boundaries, and data models. - Debug backend issues across APIs, databases, integrations, and platform workflows. - Write clean, maintainable, and testable code. - Participate in code reviews and improve based on feedback. - Collaborate with QA to verify backend behavior and resolve defects. - Help improve logging, monitoring, error handling, and operational reliability. - Document technical behavior, API changes, and implementation details when needed. - Support production readiness as the platform scales. ------------------------------------------- <What Success Looks Like> In this role, success means you are able to: - Deliver backend features with good quality and reliability. - Understand business requirements and translate them into working backend functionality. - Contribute to APIs, services, integrations, and data workflows with increasing independence. - Work effectively with senior engineers and product stakeholders. - Identify edge cases, defects, and operational risks early. - Improve your technical judgment and grow toward senior-level ownership over time. ------------------------------------------- <Why Join Us> This is an opportunity to join KabuK Exchange at an important stage of its development. - 3+ years of backend engineering experience. - Experience building or maintaining backend services and APIs. - Experience with C# / .NET, or willingness to work with an existing .NET-based backend. - Understanding of REST APIs, databases, backend design patterns, and service-based architecture. - Experience working with relational databases. - Ability to debug issues across application code, APIs, and data. - Understanding of error handling, logging, testing, and maintainable code practices. - Comfortable working in a fast-moving platform environment. - Ability to collaborate with product managers, QA, senior engineers, and distributed engineering teams. - Conversational English ability.

- Experience with Go, Java, Kotlin, or other modern backend languages. - Experience with AWS or cloud-based systems. - Experience with third-party API integrations. - Experience with event-driven processing, queues, retries, or asynchronous workflows. - Experience in travel, hospitality, OTA, hotel systems, channel managers, payments, marketplaces, or B2B platforms. - Experience working with outsourced or distributed engineering teams. - Japanese or Korean language ability.
