SCM Senior Solution Designer – Data & Web Apps

Job PurposeProvide end‑to‑end solution architecture and technical leadership for data platforms and web applications supporting SCM. Own design standards, guide delivery teams (Data Engineers, Full Stack & Frontend Developers), and ensure secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions aligned with business priorities. Responsibilities:Requirements & Value DeliveryPartner with business stakeholders to understand, clarify, and refine requirementsConvert business needs into clear technical product specificationsEnsure solutions deliver measurable value and are designed for future scalability and expansionArchitecture & Design:Define target architectures (data lakehouse, semantic layer, APIs, front‑end patterns)Produce HLD/LLD, non‑functional requirements. Data Engineering Leadership (Hands-on depth)Lead design and oversight of robust data pipelines and platforms using:SQL, Python, SparkOversee:ELT/ETL patterns and orchestrationData quality controls, monitoring, and reliabilityData Models that support analytics and AI/ML readiness Web Applications Oversight (End-to-End Delivery)(You may not code daily, but you will own the delivery quality and architecture.)Partner with developers using:React.jsPower Apps, Power Automate, Power PagesAzure FunctionsDataverseEnsure end-to-end quality across UI, API, and data layers Delivery Leadership:·        Own technical delivery practices including: CI/CD pipelines·        Secure engineering and deployment standards·        Release readiness, UAT coordination, go-live planning·        Build operational excellence through Runbooks, documentation, support readinessCross‑Functional Collaboration:Work closely with:·        SCM Analytics / Integration / Process Improvement Lead·        SCM BI & Governance leadership·        Data Scientists and Hub/DNA teams (MLOps/DevOps/Infrastructure)Maintain standards for:·        Documentation, coding guidelines, design patterns·        Data catalog, business rules, data logic stewardship KPIs·        On‑time delivery of designed solutions; architecture compliance rate.·        Production reliability (availability, incident MTTR), performance benchmarks.·        Reduction of technical debt; reuse of components/patterns.·        Stakeholder satisfaction and business value realization. Reports toHead of SCM Data & Digital Solutions DepartmentKey Stakeholders:SCM, DNA, business users, Digital Transformation teams. Academic Qualifications / Professional ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field.7–10+ years in solution/enterprise architecture across data & web, preferably FMCG/Supply Chain.Strong hands-on experience with SQL + Python, spark in Data EngineeringProven ability to design scalable, production-grade pipelinesStrong experience with analytics-ready data modelingAbility to translate business needs into scalable data structuresUnderstanding of secure deployment practices and engineering controlsFamiliarity with automated testing, release pipelines, and production readinessProven delivery and deployment experience on cloud platforms(Azure preferred, but equivalent experience is valuable)Bilingual Japanese/English preferred. Preferred (Nice to Have)SAP knowledge (SAP ECC/S/4HANA, BW, SAP data structures, SAP integrations)Strong experience with Application Development Lifecycle Management (ADLM / ALM)requirements → design → build → test → release → operateChange/release management, versioning, operational handover   Technical Competencies·        Data Engineering (SQL, Python, Spark) ·        Data Modeling (dimensional/semantic modeling) ·        DevOps (CI/CD, automated testing, release pipelines) ·        Cloud-Based Deployment (production deployments on cloud platforms;
