This is a Senior/Lead Backend Developer position for the AI language learning app 「SpeakBuddy」. 【Background】 Our main business, the AI Language Learning app 「SpeakBuddy」has over 4 million downloads and is experiencing rapid growth. In order to help our business grow even more, we are currently improving the study experience with a large scale update and a project to expand overseas. In order to realize these goals, we urgently need to strengthen our team structure, so we would like to find another backend developer at this time. 【What you'll do】 ・Backend Development and Operation of our AI language learning app "SpeakBuddy" ・Proactively identify problems and propose enhancements as we scale and expand internationally 　- For example, our product architecture is one area that requires attention 　- We expect you to take the lead in these efforts, demonstrating your expertise and initiative ・Work collaboratively to determine the best enhancements to achieve service scale-out ・Take ownership of enhancements and drive them forward autonomously 　- You will have the freedom to implement your ideas and the autonomy to make impactful decisions, ensuring you can fully leverage your skills and creativity ・Lead technical aspects of Backend projects, collaborating with internal stakeholders (Product Manager, Designers, Education Lead, Marketing, and Sales Teams) to ensure alignment on requirements, keep them informed on progress, and meet deliverable milestones ・Respond to any incidents ・Participate in discussions about new feature developments and fixes with the team 【About our Development Environment】 Languages：Kotlin, Python Framework：Spring Boot Infrastructure：AWS（Managed by Terraform） Tools：GitHub, BitBucket, Slack, Datadog, JIRA, Confluence 【The Team】 ・The team consists of 3 backend developers and 1 AI engineer. The app team, that you will be joining, has a total of 17 members, including a PdM responsible for the app, designers, and more. ・Half of the members of the App team are from overseas, so daily communication happens in English and the members of this team are very international. ・Many of our members empathize with our mission and have a strong interest in language learning. 【This Position's Merits】 ・You can experience not only backend development, but also other types of development like iOS, Android, and AI related technology. ・We don't require Japanese ability, since you'll be able to communicate in English while you're working.
