仕事概要
[ ABOUT TENCHIJIN ]
Tenchijin Inc. is a Tokyo-headquartered space-tech company and JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) certified venture. Through its land-evaluation and analytics platform, Tenchijin COMPASS, the company fuses earth-observation satellite data, geospatial and environmental layers, IoT and ground-sensor feeds, and clients' operational data with proprietary AI to deliver multimodal analytics for utilities and infrastructure enterprises. Tenchijin's flagship water-infrastructure solution, KnoWaterleak, assesses pipeline deterioration and leak risk from space-derived insights and is used by a growing number of water utilities to prioritize inspection and investment, reduce non-revenue water, and extend asset life.
[ ABOUT THE PROJECT ]
The Global South Project is an 18-month initiative (October 2026 – March 2028) to design, build, and deploy a scalable, secure, AI-ready analytics platform tailored to utilities and infrastructure operators across Global South markets. The project adapts Tenchijin's satellite-data and GeoAI capabilities to regions facing aging or rapidly expanding infrastructure, constrained budgets, and limited field-inspection capacity — delivering risk assessment and decision-support tools that improve infrastructure management workflows. All positions are contract-based and fully remote, operating as one distributed, cross-border team with English as the working language.
[ ROLE SUMMARY ]
As Senior Cloud Architect, you will own the end-to-end architecture of the Tenchijin platform — a multi-cloud, multi-tenant analytics environment that fuses satellite imagery, geospatial layers, IoT feeds, and utility operational data at scale. You will make the foundational technology decisions that determine whether the platform can serve dozens of tenant utilities across multiple countries with strict cost, security, and reliability targets, while remaining ready for continuous AI/ML workload growth.

Senior Cloud Architect / Project Executive Sponsor
[ Project Language ]
English (professional working proficiency or higher required)
[ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ]
- Define and own the target multi-cloud architecture (AWS/GCP/Azure) for the Tenchijin platform, including tenant isolation strategy, network topology, data residency, and disaster-recovery design.
- Architect an AI-ready infrastructure stack that supports large-scale geospatial data ingestion, GPU/accelerated ML training and inference, and high-volume satellite imagery processing pipelines.
- Design a secure multi-tenant model (compute, storage, identity, and data-plane isolation) that allows utility clients in different countries to operate on shared infrastructure with contractual data separation.
- Establish cloud cost-optimization strategy: right-sizing, reserved/spot capacity policies, storage tiering for imagery archives, and FinOps reporting in partnership with the Cloud Operations Manager.
- Produce and maintain architecture decision records (ADRs), reference architectures, and platform standards used by engineering leads and cloud engineers.
- Review designs from the Lead Backend Engineer, Lead DevOps/SRE, and Lead GeoAI Engineer for scalability, security, and cost impact; act as final technical authority on infrastructure decisions.
- Work with the Security & Compliance Architect to embed compliance requirements (SOC 2, GDPR, APPI, and Global South regional regulations) into the architecture from day one.
- Support pre-sales and partner discussions with governments and utilities by explaining platform architecture, data sovereignty, and scalability commitments.
[ WHAT WE OFFER ]
- A central role in applying satellite data and AI to real infrastructure challenges, with measurable social and environmental impact in Global South markets.
- Fully remote, cross-border collaboration with senior specialists across cloud, GeoAI, product, and design.
- Competitive contractor compensation commensurate with experience and scope.
- Direct exposure to earth-observation technology, including data ecosystems built with Japan's space agency (JAXA).
Tenchijin Inc. is an equal-opportunity organization. We evaluate all applicants on qualifications and merit, without regard to nationality, race, religion, gender, age, or disability.

必須スキル
- 8+ years in cloud/infrastructure engineering, with 4+ years as an architect on production multi-cloud systems (at least two of AWS, GCP, Azure at depth).
- Demonstrated experience designing large-scale multi-tenant SaaS platforms, including tenant isolation, quota management, and per-tenant cost attribution.
- Strong background in cloud cost optimization / FinOps for data-intensive workloads.
- Hands-on fluency with infrastructure as code (Terraform or equivalent), Kubernetes, and cloud networking/security primitives.
- Experience architecting platforms for data-heavy or ML workloads (data lakes, batch/stream processing, GPU workloads).
- Proven ability to lead through influence: driving architecture decisions across multiple engineering teams and time zones.
- Professional working proficiency in English (all project communication is in English).
歓迎スキル
- Experience with geospatial or earth-observation data platforms (raster/imagery pipelines, tile services, STAC catalogs).
- Experience deploying in emerging markets / Global South regions with constrained connectivity or local data-residency laws.
- Cloud architect certifications (AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
- Experience working in a cross-functional POD / squad delivery model.
