[ ABOUT TENCHIJIN ] Tenchijin Inc. is a Tokyo-headquartered space-tech company and JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) certified venture. Through its land-evaluation and analytics platform, Tenchijin COMPASS, the company fuses earth-observation satellite data, geospatial and environmental layers, IoT and ground-sensor feeds, and clients' operational data with proprietary AI to deliver multimodal analytics for utilities and infrastructure enterprises. Tenchijin's flagship water-infrastructure solution, KnoWaterleak, assesses pipeline deterioration and leak risk from space-derived insights and is used by a growing number of water utilities to prioritize inspection and investment, reduce non-revenue water, and extend asset life. [ ABOUT THE PROJECT ] The Global South Project is an 18-month initiative (October 2026 – March 2028) to design, build, and deploy a scalable, secure, AI-ready analytics platform tailored to utilities and infrastructure operators across Global South markets. The project adapts Tenchijin's satellite-data and GeoAI capabilities to regions facing aging or rapidly expanding infrastructure, constrained budgets, and limited field-inspection capacity — delivering risk assessment and decision-support tools that improve infrastructure management workflows. All positions are contract-based and fully remote, operating as one distributed, cross-border team with English as the working language. [ ROLE SUMMARY ] As Country Lead, you will serve as the strategic in-country lead responsible for driving product adoption, managing government and utility stakeholder relationships, and operationalizing Tenchijin's water-infrastructure solution within your target market (Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, or India). Reporting directly to the Global BD Manager with a dotted line to the Director of Product, you will combine a strong management/technology consulting background, water utility business domain expertise, and robust product thinking. You will play a crucial role in performing structured gap analyses between local operational realities and Tenchijin's core platform, ensuring our GeoAI capabilities deliver immediate, high-value impact to local operators. [ Reports To ] Global BD Manager (Solid line) / Director of Product (Dotted line) [ Project Language ] English (professional working proficiency or higher required) + Local language proficiency [ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ] - Government & Public Sector Engagement: Establish, nurture, and navigate high-level relationships with national and local government bodies, municipal water authorities, and regional utility providers to accelerate technology adoption and navigate public procurement processes. - Product Thinking & Gap Analysis: Conduct rigorous, structured gap analyses comparing local utility workflows, regulatory standards, and operational constraints against Tenchijin’s global product roadmap. Translate local market requirements into clear, actionable feature specifications for the Director of Product and product development teams. - Business Development & Market Expansion: Lead regional BD strategies under the guidance of the Global BD Manager to secure pilot projects, long-term commercial agreements, and strategic public-private partnerships across the local water sector. - In-Country Operational Leadership: Serve as the primary local point of contact for project rollouts, risk management, and partner alignment, ensuring local implementations are delivered smoothly and meet key performance milestones. - Technology Advocacy: Articulate complex technological capabilities—including satellite imagery processing, IoT fusion, and predictive leak risk analytics—to both technical engineering teams and non-technical government stakeholders. - Cross-Border Collaboration: Work as a seamless bridge between local in-country stakeholders and Tenchijin’s global distributed team, facilitating clear communication and alignment across time zones. - Consulting Background: 5+ years of experience in management consulting, technology advisory, or strategic business development, with a proven track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects in technology or infrastructure. - Water Utility & Government Experience: Direct working knowledge of the water utility business (e.g., non-revenue water reduction, pipeline maintenance, utility operations) and hands-on experience navigating government relations/public sector procurement in the target country. - Strong Product Thinking & Analytical Skills: Demonstrated experience performing structured gap analysis (identifying user needs, regulatory/technical barriers, and functional gaps) to bridge client operations with software product capabilities. Technology Savviness: Strong technical fluency to comfortably interface with software engineers and data scientists, understand cloud/data/AI solutions, and translate complex technical architectures into compelling business cases. - Language Proficiency: Professional working proficiency in English (all internal project communication is in English) as well as full fluency in the primary language of the target country. - Location: Must be based in or have legal authorization to work in the respective target country (Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, or India).

- Previous experience introducing innovation, SaaS, or IoT/AI technologies to conservative or traditional utility operators. - Strong network within local ministries of water/environment, public works, or major regional water concessionaires. - Familiarity with geospatial technologies, GIS mapping, or remote sensing applications in municipal infrastructure.
