[ ABOUT TENCHIJIN ] Tenchijin Inc. is a Tokyo-headquartered space-tech company and JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) certified venture. Through its land-evaluation and analytics platform, Tenchijin COMPASS, the company fuses earth-observation satellite data, geospatial and environmental layers, IoT and ground-sensor feeds, and clients' operational data with proprietary AI to deliver multimodal analytics for utilities and infrastructure enterprises. Tenchijin's flagship water-infrastructure solution, KnoWaterleak, assesses pipeline deterioration and leak risk from space-derived insights and is used by a growing number of water utilities to prioritize inspection and investment, reduce non-revenue water, and extend asset life. [ ABOUT THE PROJECT ] The Global South Project is an 18-month initiative (October 2026 – March 2028) to design, build, and deploy a scalable, secure, AI-ready analytics platform tailored to utilities and infrastructure operators across Global South markets. The project adapts Tenchijin's satellite-data and GeoAI capabilities to regions facing aging or rapidly expanding infrastructure, constrained budgets, and limited field-inspection capacity — delivering risk assessment and decision-support tools that improve infrastructure management workflows. All positions are contract-based and fully remote, operating as one distributed, cross-border team with English as the working language. [ ROLE SUMMARY ] In this 12-month engagement you will design and build the automation foundation that the rest of the project stands on: CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing frameworks, and deployment tooling for a multi-cloud, multi-tenant geospatial analytics platform. Your goal is that by the end of your contract, every service ships through a fully automated, tested, and observable path to production — and the team you leave behind can run and extend it. [ Reports To ] Cloud Operations Manager / Senior DevOps Manager [ Project Language ] English (professional working proficiency or higher required) [ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ] - Design and implement CI/CD pipelines covering build, test, security scanning, artifact management, and progressive deployment (blue/green or canary) for all platform services. - Establish the infrastructure-as-code baseline (Terraform/Pulumi) and GitOps workflows for provisioning environments across clouds and regions. - Build and standardize container orchestration (Kubernetes) deployment patterns: Helm/manifests, autoscaling policies, and multi-tenant namespace strategy. - Implement automated system-testing frameworks — integration, load, and smoke testing wired into the pipeline — in collaboration with the QA Engineer. - Stand up the observability stack (metrics, logs, traces, alerting) and integrate it with SLO monitoring defined by the SRE function. - Automate database migrations, secrets rotation, and environment promotion to eliminate manual release steps. - Mentor cloud engineers and developers on pipeline usage, IaC contribution standards, and deployment best practices; document everything for handover. - Continuously measure and improve deployment frequency, lead time, change-failure rate, and MTTR. - 6+ years in DevOps/SRE roles with deep hands-on ownership of CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar) in production. - Expert-level infrastructure as code (Terraform strongly preferred) and Kubernetes administration. - Strong scripting/programming ability (Python, Go, or Bash) for building automation tooling. - Experience implementing automated testing frameworks and quality gates within pipelines. - Solid grounding in observability tooling (Prometheus/Grafana, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, or similar). - Professional working proficiency in English.

- Experience with data/ML pipeline automation (Airflow, Argo Workflows) or geospatial processing workloads. - Multi-cloud deployment experience. - Track record of knowledge transfer / enablement in time-boxed consulting or contract engagements. - Experience working in a cross-functional POD / squad delivery model.
