[ ABOUT TENCHIJIN ] Tenchijin Inc. is a Tokyo-headquartered space-tech company and JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) certified venture. Tenchijin's flagship water-infrastructure solution, KnoWaterleak, assesses pipeline deterioration and leak risk from space-derived insights and is used by a growing number of water utilities to prioritize inspection and investment, reduce non-revenue water, and extend asset life. [ ABOUT THE PROJECT ] The Global South Project is an 18-month initiative (October 2026 – March 2028) to design, build, and deploy a scalable, secure, AI-ready analytics platform tailored to utilities and infrastructure operators across Global South markets. The project adapts Tenchijin's satellite-data and GeoAI capabilities to regions facing aging or rapidly expanding infrastructure, constrained budgets, and limited field-inspection capacity — delivering risk assessment and decision-support tools that improve infrastructure management workflows. All positions are contract-based and fully remote, operating as one distributed, cross-border team with English as the working language. [ ROLE SUMMARY ] You will guarantee that what ships to utility clients works — across services, browsers, languages, and data conditions. You will design and implement the automated test suites that gate every release, covering functional correctness, API contracts, performance, and the geospatial/analytics behaviors unique to this platform. [ Reports To ] Lead DevOps/SRE (functional) / Cloud Operations Manager [ Project Language ] English (professional working proficiency or higher required) [ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ] - Define the overall test strategy: coverage targets, test pyramid, environments, and release quality gates. - Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites — API/contract tests, end-to-end UI tests, and regression packs — integrated into CI/CD. - Build performance and load-testing scenarios for high-volume API and map-serving workloads; publish benchmark reports. - Test multi-tenant behaviors: data isolation, per-tenant configuration, and permission boundaries. - Validate multi-language builds in cooperation with the I18N Engineer and Localization Manager (pseudo-localization, locale-specific formatting checks). - Verify data-pipeline correctness: ingestion validation, transformation accuracy, and analytics-output sanity checks against known fixtures. - Track, triage, and report defects with clear reproduction steps; own quality metrics and release-readiness reporting. - Coach developers on testability and shift-left quality practices. - 4+ years in QA/test engineering with strong test-automation ownership (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar for UI; Postman/pytest/REST-assured or similar for API). - Programming proficiency in at least one language (Python, TypeScript, or Java) for test development. - Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. - Performance/load testing experience (k6, JMeter, Locust, or similar). - Professional working proficiency in English.

- Experience testing data pipelines, analytics outputs, or geospatial applications. - i18n/l10n testing experience. - ISTQB or equivalent certification. - Experience working in a cross-functional POD / squad delivery model.
