The Product Discovery Team is responsible for everything from discovering new opportunities to delivering tools that accelerate the pace of research and make it more accessible to the world. Research is a field that is slow to change - our goal is to develop new products that accelerate research and inspire the next generation of researchers. Design plays a critical role in this team. To make our products accessible to all researchers, they must be innovative, rich in functionality, capable of complex tasks, yet simple to learn and use. We're looking for a Lead Mobile Engineer who specializes in building mobile applications and wants to help shape the future of research. As an early member of this team, you'll take a major role in shaping our design culture and influencing the product direction. 【About This Role】 In this role, you'll work in a small cross-functional team - collaborating closely with designers and product managers - to discover new experiences for researchers. You'll lead the architecture and development of complex mobile applications, helping shape the future of research together with the team. This position is based in our Tokyo office. We operate in a hybrid work style but ask that you live within commuting distance. 【What You'll Do】 - Lead and mentor the team on mobile development best practices. - Design and build high-quality mobile applications. - Drive technical architecture and engineering decisions for mobile products. - Rapidly prototype and build products based on hypotheses, validating value through experimentation. - Proactively ensure best practices in testing, o11y, architecture, clean code, and documentation. - Develop features utilizing LLMs (Large Language Models). 【To Succeed in This Position You'll Need To】 - Have a strong interest in shaping the future of research - Be comfortable working in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment. - Enjoy solving complex, domain-specific problems. - Strong communication skills and a commitment to growing with the team.
