Araya Inc. is seeking multiple researchers to join our cutting-edge research team in NeuroAI and the Science of Consciousness.
We aim to bridge neuroscience, mathematics, philosophy, and artificial intelligence to uncover the computational principles underlying intelligence and consciousness.
Successful candidates will work on one or more of the following research themes:
(1) Scaling Laws for Brain Decoding & Large-Scale Brain Foundation Models
・Decoding brain signals from large-scale datasets (EEG, MEG, ECoG, MEA, etc.)
・Empirical investigation of scaling laws in neural decoding
・Development of state-of-the-art multimodal deep learning models
・Building foundational AI models for neural data

(2) Computational models of Consciousness
・Develop computational models of consciousness based on non-trivial
・information closure (NTIC) or other related theories
・Build predictive AI models to identify NTIC cores in neural data (e.g., spikes, ECoG)

(3) Mathematical Theories of Consciousness
・Explore structural frameworks for continuity, qualia, and symmetry in consciousness

必須スキル
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
・Ph.D. or equivalent experience in neuroscience, computer science, physics, mathematics, philosophy, or a related discipline (obtained or expected soon)
・Research experience in one or more of the following areas:
- EEG/ECoG data analysis or brain decoding
- Computational or theoretical neuroscience
- Machine learning / AI model development (e.g., PyTorch, Jax, etc.)
- Information theory, dynamical systems, or computational modelling
- Philosophy of mind, consciousness research
- Mathematics
・Ability to publish and communicate research in English
求める人物像
・Academic excellence and quality of research publications will be the primary selection criteria.
・Creativity and potential for independent, interdisciplinary research are highly valued.
