［R&D］Intern (Neuroscience / ML)

Note: This role is only available to people currently residing in Japan with permission to work. For international students, a "Permission to Engage in Activity Other Than That Permitted under the Status of Residence" (資格外活動許可) is required prior to starting. In this role you will work on advancing research on decoding EEG signals and implementing neurofeedback protocols. We are looking for candidates who are interested in applying the latest research to achieving results on real-world problems, with a mix of research and engineering. The position is part of the JST Moonshot grant for developing and deploying brain-machine interfaces: https://brains.link/en. You will be joining a multidisciplinary research team aiming to combine machine learning and neuroscience to “control robots using our minds”. The role is for a full-time, 4 month internship, starting late summer/early autumn. You will be expected to come in to the office at least once a week.

・Degree in a relevant subject area (computational neuroscience, cognitive science, electrical engineering, computer science, etc.) ・Programming (Python) ・Software engineering skills (Linux, git) ・English proficiency (able to read and write research papers in English)

・PhD in a quantitative subject area, or equivalent practical experience ・Experience with EEG data and experiments ・Experience with web development (HTML, CSS, JS) ・Journal/conference/workshop publications
