We are excited to welcome a Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team at RESTAR, a cutting-edge platform revolutionizing the commercial real estate market in Japan. This is also a unique opportunity to work with the Elixir programming language.
We've got exciting challenges ahead of us, and we need more bright minds to help tackle them.
We’re looking for a software engineer with a solid technical background to help us build and improve our platform.
In this role, you’ll focus on creating a reliable, scalable, and user-friendly product using modern development practices. We value clean code, good software design, and teamwork. Responsibilities

You'll be at the heart of developing our REMETIS platform, which means you'll write clean code and you'll be deeply involved in shaping how the product evolves. You'll work closely with our product team to build features for our users. You'll be part of code reviews and technical discussions.
We're not just looking for someone to write code - we want someone who'll bring their own ideas to the table, whether that's suggesting better tools, improving our processes, or finding smarter ways to solve problems.

Required

It basically goes without saying that we're looking for someone who knows their way around code, but just to be clear: That doesn't mean you need to be an Elixir expert right now. But we expect that you'll be most successful in this role if you have solid programming experience in any language and, most importantly, bring genuine curiosity and eagerness to dive into Elixir. It's a fantastic language that we love working with, and we're happy to help you learn it.

  • You're a software developer who genuinely gets excited about elegant code and building great products.
  • You have experience building RESTful web services and backend systems.
  • You write clean, well-tested code and know how to build systems that are secure, performant, and scalable.
  • You love being part of technical discussions that shape the product.
  • You thrive in a startup environment and communicate well with both technical and non-technical teammates.
  • Most importantly, you are eager to learn. While Elixir experience is a plus, we care more about your potential and motivation to grow with us.
  • You are currently located in Japan.

  • Annual salary: 8,000,000 Yen〜12,000,000Yen
    • Final decision will be made based on experience and interview evaluation

  • Policy
    • At RESTAR, as long as you are based in Japan, we do not impose strict rules regarding where you live or how often you come into the office.
      In other words, the choice between working remotely and working from the office is at your own discretion.
      We are looking to work with people who can determine for themselves which way of working will maximize their results, and use both accordingly.

  • Note
    • During the probation period it is a requirement to come into the office about 1-2 times per week.

  • Work Hours:
    • We operate on a flexible working system that gives you the freedom to shape your day. While we consider a full workday to be 8 hours per day under the Discretionary working System, we're more interested in your output than watching the clock. Our standard working hours are from 10:00 to 19:00 Japan Standard Time, but we trust you to manage your time in a way that lets you do your best work.
  • Break: 1 hour
  • Holidays
    • 20 days paid leave (5 days paid leaves are granted on 1/1, 4/1, 7/1, 10/1 every year)
    • Saturdays, Sundays, and National holidays including Golden Week and New Year
    • Special paid leave for Family and Medical：Employees shall be granted five (5) days of special paid leave on the date of hire. Thereafter, five (5) days of emergency leave shall be granted on January 1 of each year
